How much is self-preservation worth when it calls you into the depths of primal nature?

Magic came to the world when the planes of two worlds crashed into one another and tore rifts into reality. Essence poured through the rifts and across the lands, saturating each continent with uncontrolled magic and spreading across the rest of the world. However, with the magic, also came the things that only once lived in nightmares.

Creatures from the newly discovered world crept into the one magic-free world at a time where people were trying to understand what had been bestowed upon them. However it wasn't long before the creatures, also referred to as beasts, began their path of destruction. War raged between man and beasts in the woods of Bosciynia, favoring man in the end.

As the years continued, those who were able to wield the magic beyond the rifts began to change. Many lost their minds and many lost control of the magic they once knew how to control. This ultimately led to the banishment of the rift magic, and anyone practicing it was detained and never seen again.

Now, centuries later, it was a time of relative peace as the rifts from before seemingly closed up over the years. Beasts still lurked in the wilds beyond city walls. They were kept only at bay by the monarch-created organization known as the Order of the Aladur, and any forbidden magic use was quickly shut down by the newly created Queen’s Guard. However, the era of peace was wavering as the magic that is forbidden from use begins to call itself home.

Edrin Shahra is thrown into this brewing chaos by force after actively avoiding anything to do with magic or beasts his entire life. The fate of both worlds rests in his hands and he must decide if surviving another day is worth the lives of humanity.

  • The day that magic flowed into the world through the shimmering veils dotting this great land will forever be noted as the beginning of the end.

  • It was a flicker... it was, I swear it! But then the next moment -- engulfed in flames. The screams, oh saints the screams, they haunt me to this day.

  • I found a tattered green cloak blowing int he breeze. It was stained with dark, dry blood -- certainly has been here for some time. I'm not sure what they [The Order] do for funerals for their own, but I hope th efamily of this soldier knows.
